111: Luxury

A thousands sq. m villa is of course a luxury. A manly racer of popular brands is sure a luxury. But that's it?

Suddenly came into mind, a long vacation after a peak working cycle being approved is really a luxury for me. It's not without you can't buy it, but can't be bought even you have much money. If you are the top of the Firm, it may not be a luxury for you la.

Some people including me would regard things can't be easily be done as luxury, such as having a tea break , or a round of happy hour in the middle of a busy working day. Some married people would also think going home with their children (without their maids) after school is also a luxury. It all depends on personal value judgements.

I think one of the important thing of luxury is a kind of counsciousness towards the kind of luxury. I guess, even when some people have much money, they may not know how to spend, thus resulting in buying many many things and finally can't enjoy them to the full. Bought an expensive diamond ring to show off but not able to tell its story in front of friends (the audience) somehow suggests this person can only buy it but can't fully enjoy the substance. It only remains on the surface but not going much and further deeper. A father busy at work and hurry every day to take his daughter home may find this a luxury because time is expensive for him. But if he thinks deeper and treat the time as important one-to-one communication and care between him and his daughter, he is really conscious about how to cherish this short period of time. So it's important for persons like luxury to know and feel, and appreciate the luxury, demonstrating more subatance.

Knowing how to appreciate luxury can make people more satisfied with the luxury. Simply buy it or do it will of course make you happy because you have achieved your objectives. If you can appreciate it, look deeper, think differently - what I can really add value after buying or doing it, you will be satisfied and love your decision.
